What Junto Is
Junto is a web application that helps adults in Chicago meet and build real friendships through shared activities like books, music, food, sports, and games. This is not a dating app. We are a community built on genuine connection and recurring shared experiences.
Your Account
You agree to provide accurate information when you sign up and to keep your password private. You are responsible for all activity on your account. You may not create multiple accounts or impersonate another person.
What You Cannot Do
You agree not to use Junto for:
- Dating or romantic purposes. Junto is explicitly for platonic friendships. Any account created with the intent to date, find romantic partners, or engage in hookups will be banned.
- Harassment, threats, or abuse toward other users.
- Spam, scams, or unsolicited commercial activity.
- Impersonation or pretending to be someone else.
- Repeatedly proposing meetups and then not showing up. Consistent flakiness (measured by your reliability score) may result in warnings and eventual account suspension.
Enforcement
We review reports from users and take violations seriously. Consequences range from warnings to permanent bans depending on the severity and pattern of behavior.
Limitation of Liability
Junto is provided as-is. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free or that it will meet your expectations. We are not liable for any harm, loss, or damage arising from your use of Junto, including disputes between users, failed meetups, or personal injury.
You are responsible for your own safety. Meet new people in public places. Tell a friend where you are going. Use your judgment.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you. Your continued use of Junto means you accept the updated terms.
