What We Collect
When you use Junto, we collect:
- Your first name, last name (for account purposes), email address, and password.
- Your profile information: bio, profile photo, activities you select, and your home base neighborhood.
- Your message content when you communicate with other users in group threads.
- Your reliability metrics: whether you confirm or no-show for proposed meetups. This becomes your public reliability score.
- Analytics events: when you sign up, complete your profile, discover matches, send messages, propose meetups, and confirm attendance. These events help us understand how the app is being used.
What We Do Not Collect
We do not collect your GPS location or track your physical whereabouts. We only use the neighborhoods you select.
We do not collect your phone number unless you voluntarily provide it (optional).
How We Use Your Data
We use your data to:
- Create and manage your account.
- Show you matches based on shared activities and neighborhoods.
- Enable messaging and group coordination.
- Calculate your reliability score based on meetup confirmations.
- Understand how users interact with the app and identify areas for improvement.
What We Share (and What We Don't)
Public: Your first name, profile photo, bio, selected activities, home base neighborhood, and reliability score are visible to other users in the app so they can decide whether to connect with you.
Private: Your last name, email address, password, and phone number are never shown to other users.
We never sell your data to third parties. We may share aggregated, anonymized data (e.g., "activity X is popular in neighborhood Y") with no personal information attached.
Data Retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, though we may retain anonymized data for analytics and safety purposes.
Your Rights
You can update or delete your profile information at any time through your account settings. You can request a copy of your data or request that we delete your account using the Help & Feedback section in the app.
Security
We use industry-standard encryption to protect your data in transit and at rest. However, no system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
